English/Math tutor, 11+, 13+, reading
With over 18 years of experience in primary education, I
specialize in teaching KS2 students (Years 3-6), focusing on
mathematics and comprehensive curriculum development. My
roles have included Deputy Headteacher and Interim
Headteacher positions, where I led mathematics initiatives and
broader curriculum strategies.
I have taught Year 6 students, preparing them for SATs
through whole-class instruction and targeted interventions,
as well as reading comprehension.
As a Deputy Headteacher, I led mathematics across the
school, supported curriculum development, and provided
training for teachers. My consultancy work involved
mentoring specialist teachers and developing effective
teaching strategies, particularly in mathematics. Additionally,
I have tutored students aged 7 to 16, offering 11+, 13+ tuition
and mathematics instruction up to GCSE level, with
familiarity in various exam boards and assessment formats.
I employ a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles and needs. My teaching emphasizes conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and practical application of mathematical concepts. I utilize a variety of resources, including those I have personally developed, to engage students and make learning interactive. My goal is to build confidence and foster a positive attitude towards mathematics, ensuring students are well-prepared for their academics assessments and future studies.
